Elizabeth Ann Fairbairn, age 74, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on May 15, 2021. She was born November 1, 1946, in Concord, California, to Richard Albert and Sallie A. Gadsden. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1974, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to William B. Fairbairn. She was a homemaker, mother, and food service worker for at Mercy Hospital. Her many interests included being a member of The Red Hats Society for many years, loving Rick Springfield, Clint Eastwood, and Sean Connery, painting ceramics (especially Santa’s/Christmas), cross stitching, Thomas Kincaid paintings, playing card games, spending time with family and friends, and was an avid Springfield/St. Louis Cardinal fan.
She was preceded in death by her father Richard Albert Gadsden; mother, Sally Simpson; and stepfather, Herman “Buck” Simpson. She is survived by her husband William B. Fairbairn; children, Heather Jones (Jeffrey), Michael Fairbairn (Cynthia), Robert Fairbairn (Tammy), and James Fairbairn (Sandy); 4 grandchildren, Ashley Fairbairn, Lyndsey Fairbairn, Lauren Fairbairn, and Ian Jones; great-grandchildren John DiMarino and Addison Paige Jones; brother, Richard Gadsden (Joann); sisters, Penny David and Pat Jahn (Rick).
There will be a Celebration of Elizabeth’s Life at 11:00, May 25 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. The graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
