The hill is clothed in a robe of purple for it is the dawn of a new day. Purple fades into orchid as I stand on the winding road that leads up the hill and behold the beauty of creation. Violets and ender grass peek from under the brown leaves and high above me the trees form a lacy canopy of pale green.
The hill is vibrating with the symphony of a thousand tiny voices. This heavenly music does not seem to be for mankind, for man is not yet awake. Could it be, during this hour of dawn they are at their morning worship, in the chapel of the woods? Chapel services in the tree tops are ended, and winged worshipers have descended to gather manna from the earth.
Sunbeams have caught the dew drops with their magic as I turn to join my fellow man, for a new and busy day. Some men will seek for fortune, some for knowledge, and some for pleasure. Some will build, others will tear down and a few will pray at the start of this new day…

Words fail us in how to adequately convey the beauty of 88 year old Elizabeth Minerva Simpson, Davison, Bohannan. The first born child of William and Birdie Simpson was born November 5, 1921 in Bismark, Mo. Six year old Elizabeth and her three younger siblings’s experienced tragic circumstances that left them to be raised by the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home during the Great Depression. Her surviving brother, Bill Simpson, agreed that both the harsh and happy realities of life were filtered throughout the loving hand of their Heavenly Father, bringing them to a better understanding of life’s purpose.
Elizabeth was married to Homer E. Davison of Elkland, mo. for fifty nine years. To this union were born three much loved girls; Glenrose Michah Peterson and husband Jack, of Springfield, Mo., Elizabeth Kathrin Campbell and husband Gene, of Elmwood, Ill., and Janice Elaine Dempsey and husband Clark of Columbia, Mo.,
The widowed Elizabeth married James C. Bohannaon of Mt. Vernon, Mo. on July 2, 2005 and thereafter was lovingly referred to as Betty and Bo. For the past five years she shared the love of his precious daughter-in-law, Becky Bohannan, and their friends at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon, Mo.
Her legacy for the continuing generation of her ten grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren is for them to know who they are, why there are and where they are going. She firmly believed one could never underestimate the power of a person who abides in Christ.
She lived a rich full purposeful like here and began and exceedingly abundant life beyond all earthly comprehension when she met her Lord face to face on October 13, 2010
A Private family gathering and burial will be at Timber Ridge Baptist Church, Elkland Mo. at 9 a.m on October 16, 2010. A memorial Service for friends and family will be at 12 noon, the same day in the Greenlawn Funeral Home East, at 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, Mo.
Memorials may be made out to the Missouri Baptist Children’s home or a local Hospice as requested
