Elizabeth Jane Payne, age 74, of Springfield, was born March 26, 1936, in Louisburg, Mo., and passed away October 7, 2010, in St. John’s Hospital.
She graduated from Bolivar High School. She was a cashier at Consumer’s Market for over 20 years. After retirement she worked in the St. John’s Hospital day care for several years. She enjoyed spending time with children.
She was a member of True Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to do embroidery and make doll clothes for her grandkids. She had a selfless heart and took care of others needs before her own. Mom wanted to be anywhere the family was gathered together.
She was preceded in death by mother, Alpha Williams; father, Orville Williams; and brother, Charles Alfred Williams.
She is survived by her children, Clara Elizabeth Teague, Susan Kay and husband Dr. Han Hulstra; grandchildren, Amy Sue and husband Shannon Killingsworth, Christopher Blake and wife Melissa Joy Teague; great-grandchildren, Taylor Anne and Trinity Nicole Killingsworth, Brimmer Hudson, and Harper Elizabeth Teague; and cousins, Charles Curtis and wife Rose Marie Matthews.
Funeral service will be Monday, October 11, 2010, at 3 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar, Mo. Visitation will be Sunday, October 10, 2010, from 3 to 6 p.m., in the funeral home.
