Elizabeth Ruby “Betty” Bishop, 69, Springfield, MO. passed away October 21, 2021, at Cox Hospital South, after a long illness. She was born at home on May 8, 1952, in Batavia, Ohio, to John and Ruby Bayer.
Betty was a homemaker and a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and spent many hours reading and studying her Bible. She also spent much time in prayer, for missionaries, her family, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Adam Bishop; and her brother, Bob Bastin. Betty is survived by: her husband, John “Dan” Bishop; her son: Jason Bishop and his wife, Gina; her daughter: Katie Darlington and her husband, Joel; her sister: Linda Hayden and her husband, Alan; two brothers: John Bayer and his wife, Lois, and Tony Bayer and his wife, Flo; a daughter-in-law: Gloria Yergey; two grand-daughters: Calah and Hunter Bishop; as well as one uncle, and nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
Betty loved flowers, but instead of flowers she would ask you give to the Baptist Bible Fellowship International, so that people around the world can hear the Gospel and experience eternal life.
