Elliott (Lucky) Edmond Knox, age 86, of Springfeld, MO, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at Christian Health Care East. He was born November 7, 1924, in Detroit, MI, to Henry and Hazel (Grigware) Knox. He was a member of the Northside Christian Church, along with several other civic organizations. He served in the United States Army during WW II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Frances Knox ; one son, Elliott Paul Knox ;his parents; one brother, Robert Knox; and a sister, Arla Adler.
He is survived by his two daughters, Concheta Lanpher and husband Harry , Springfield,
Terella Church and husband Ronald, Springfield; six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; one great-great- granddaughter; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, with Rev. Wayne Bushnell officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. There will be a dinner for friends and family at Northside Christian Church following the burial. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
