Elma Fuhr, age 88, Springfield passed away Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 at Jacob’s Ladder Hospice House.
Elma was born December 4, 1931 in Vance, Alabama to Micah and Annie Mae Battles. She was united in marriage to Donald Fuhr Sr. September 7, 1957 in Las Vegas, NV. After moving to Missouri Elma and Donald owned and operated a hog farm, in Pomona, MO. Elma was a great seamstress. She loved ceramics and gardening. But her greatest love was spending time with her family. Elma was a faithful member of North Nixa Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two loving children, Donald Fuhr Jr. and wife Sherri, of Nixa and Carol Fuhr, St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Brandon Fuhr and wife Charissa and Ashlee Selburg and husband John; three great-grandchildren, Blakely , Remmey, and Kaius; two sisters, Velma Mangham and Betty Stanford; and a host of family and friends.
Elma was preceded in death by her husband Donald Fuhr Sr; parents Micah and Annie Mae Battles; three brothers, Richard, L.C., and J. P.; and a twin sister, Thelma.
A celebration of Elma’s life will be held Tuesday, November 24th, 2020 at 11:30 am in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with private family burial to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
