Eloise Pruett Dasal, Eldon, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Eldon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Eldon, MO, at the age of 92 years and 14 days. She was born on July 19, 1920 to Pickett and Minnie Perry Pruett. Eloise grew up in Georgia and was a 1938 graduate of Flowery Branch High School. As a young woman, during World War II, she moved to Savannah, GA to work in a military defense plant. While there she met her future husband Domingo “Sonny” Dasal who was visiting with a friend.
In September of 1943 she and “Sonny” were married in New York City. She and “Sonny” lived in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi before moving to Missouri with their five sons in 1956. Their sixth and youngest son was born in Missouri in 1960. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. From 1957 to 2000 she and Sonny made their home in Lake St. Louis, MO. From 1960 to 1994 “Bro. Dasal” and Eloise served the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Jonesburg, MO where he was Pastor. Moving to Springfield, MO in 2000 they became members of the Boulevard Baptist Church. For the past six years she has been a resident of the Eldon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her still-born daughter and her husband of sixty years. She is survived by her six sons: Ramon (Kathleen) Dasal of Olympia, WA; Bob (Barbara) Dasal, Ooltewah, TN; Vincent Dasal, St. George, UT; Pickett (Nelda) Dasal, Eldon, MO; Phillip (Suzy) Dasal, Springfield, MO; and Ben (Brenda) Dasal, St. Charles, MO; by her two brothers: Ellis Pruett and Elbert (Robbie) Pruett both of Buford, GA; 14 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; her nieces and nephews, and other family members.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. A celebration of her life service will be at the Funeral Home also Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be on Monday, August 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of plants and flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
