Elva Leon Meadows, age 93, of Bolivar,
MO, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility. Leon
was born to the late Elva Ray and Bessie Elizabeth (Breshears) Meadors February
25, 1920, in Urbana, MO. He was united
in marriage to Martha “Emogene” Richards on May 10, 1940, and to this union two
daughters was born. Leon and Emogene
lived in Polk County all their married life.

Leon was saved and baptized at the age
of 13 at Lindley Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He is a member of Charity Missionary Baptist
Church.

He was ordained to the ministry April 6,
1952, at Goodson Missionary Baptist Church.
He pastored many churches in the surrounding counties. Leon cherished his time at church and his
desire was for the gospel to go out and touch the hearts of lost people.

Leon made a career at Butler and Edel
Ford Tractor where he was admired as a skilled mechanic and painter. After retirement, Leon busied himself by
working for Bolivar R-1 School and a small engine repair shop at his home.

Leon was preceded in
death by his parents; two brothers: Dale and
Kenneth Meadors; and two sisters in-law: Loretta, and Patsy Meadors.

Surviving is his wife of 73 years Emogene of the home; two
daughters: Shirley Parrack and husband Floy of Buffalo, MO; and Sharon Jones
and husband Jim of Bolivar, MO; six grandchildren: Jimmy Jones, Shara Collins,
Ryan Jones, Tamela Jones, and Kimberly Perry; nine great grandchildren: Luke
and Lily Jones, Heston and Chloee Collins, Cooper and Ellie Jones, Derrick
Smead, Bailey Massey, and Clinton Perry; one brother Lavern of Bolivar, MO; two
sisters in-law: Carolyn of Republic, MO, and Zona of Bolivar, MO; as well as
many other relatives and friends.

Leon was a devoted
husband, father, grandfather, and was very proud of his family.

Funeral services will be held at at 10:00 AM Monday,
October 28, 2013, at Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO,
with Bro.’s Mike Bruce and John Brown
officiating. Burial will follow at
Greenwood Cemetery Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be held from From 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, October 27, 2013, in the
funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
