Emilia Hernandez Chavez, 91, went to her heavenly home to be with our Lord and Savior on November 26, 2025, at approximately 12:01 a.m. She was welcomed into eternal rest by her mother, Gregoria Chavez Hernandez; her father, Ramon Hernandez; and her two sons, Raul Elmer Arquiony Hernandez and Duglas Gladimir Arquiony Hernandez. Emilia passed peacefully at her family’s home, surrounded by the love of those dearest to her.

Emilia leaves behind her beloved daughter, Dora Esperanza Aquino, and her sons Oscar Armando Perez Chavez, Jose Angel Roberto Arquiony Hernandez, and Julio Cesar Arquiony Hernandez. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren—Jacqueline Aquino, Mary Aquino, Guillermo Aquino Jr., Ricky Perez, Andres Perez, Kevin Perez, and Kelly Perez—as well as numerous great-grandchildren who brought great joy to her life.

Born on November 12, 1934, in San Salvador, El Salvador, Emilia lived a life defined by strength, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. As a hardworking single mother, she made countless sacrifices to provide a better future for her children. In 1975, she bravely moved to the United States, where her children soon followed. Through determination and dedication, she proudly obtained dual citizenship.

Emilia lived many years in Los Angeles, California, before making her final move to Reeds Spring, Missouri, in 2017. For five precious years, she was lovingly cared for at home by her daughter, Dora, her son-in-law, Guillermo, and her grandchildren. In late 2022, she entered a nursing home where she received exceptional care from Dr. Clonts, Lauren Nemes, Suzanne Allen, Aaliyah Smith, Ana Munden, and many other compassionate caregivers. During this time, she formed a special friendship with Maria Lopez, who her family believes will welcome her with open arms in heaven.

Emilia will be fondly remembered for her spunky and sassy personality, and for always being beautifully “dolled up” in her vibrant red outfits, red lipstick, and signature jewelry. Above all, she will be remembered as the best mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother her family could have ever hoped for.

Arrangements and cremation was under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home Branson.
