Emma Jean Sutton, a beloved mother, grandmother, dedicated caregiver, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at North Park Village, in Ozark, MO. after a long illness on July 28, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on December 7, 1937, in Centerville, Iowa, to Raymond and Sylvia (Salyers) Downen. She graduated from Weaubleau, Mo High School, in 1955. She was raised by John and Eva Pfieffer. Emma was a beacon of warmth and kindness, touching the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.
Emma devoted her life to caring for others, serving as the Activities Director at a local nursing home where she fostered joy and connection among residents. Her compassion and unwavering support for those in her care reflected her character-one enriched by a profound empathy that inspired those around her.
Emma was married for 28 years to Dale Stacy, and they lived on a farm. she is survived by her four loving children: Coleta, Randy, Becky, and Sherry. she has 5 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Later, she moved to Castleberry Florida serving as the Activities Director at a local nursing home where she fostered joy and connection among residents. Her compassion and unwavering support for those in her care reflected her character-one enriched by a profound empathy that inspired those where she worked. She was also married to J.R. The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate Emma’s life. Visitation will be on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 12:00 PM Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South with burial later that day at Eastlawn cemetery
