Private graveside services for Erma Lee Snowden Higgins age 83 of Branson, Missouri were held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ross Fulton officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
She died Monday, February 4, 2013 at her home in Branson.
She was born on September 9, 1929 in Reeds Spring, Missouri the daughter of Elven and Pauline Smythe Akers. She was a retired school teacher having taught over thirty years in the Chandler, Arizona school system in the elementery and junior high classes. She was of the protestant faith and had been a resident of the area since 1989. She was united in marriage to Finis Faye Snowden and to this union was born two children. She was later married to Lloyd Higgins.
Survivors are her husband; Lloyd Higgins of the home in Branson. Two children, Greg Snowden of Branson and Paula Arney of Branson. Also surviving are her two brothers, Edd Akers of Branson and Terry Akers of Hollister, Mo. Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Erma was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Finis Faye Snowden and two brothers, James Burk Akers and Billy Joe Akers.
