Etta Lou Lawson, 97, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026, in Springfield.
Etta was born on January 23, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri, where she was a lifelong resident. She married the love of her life, Lee Lawson, on August 8, 1954, and they shared many years together.
Etta retired from Kraft, where she worked as a secretary. Her greatest dedication, however, was to her faith and her church, Boulevard Baptist Church. She devoted much of her life to serving her church and faithfully played the piano there. Her love for her church was an important part of who she was and the legacy she leaves behind.
Etta loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with them. She will be remembered for her strong faith, her devotion to her church, her love of music, and the kindness and love she shared with those around her.
Etta was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers; her husband, Lee Lawson; nieces Linda and Sue; great-nephew Chuck; and great-niece Candy.
She is survived by her great-nephew Greg Cain and his wife, Christy; great-nephew Rick DuFlot; great-niece Michelle Homesley and her husband, Tim; three great-great-nieces; and six great-great-nephews.
Etta’s life was a testament to her faith, her love of family, and her devotion to her church. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
