Euel has now joined his Lord and Savior in the Kingdom of Heaven on June 28, 2012. He was born September 21, 1932 in the humble surroundings of Guion, Arkansas. After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School he served in the Air Force for four years and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. After working the summer in Kansas City he met the future love of his life Kathryn Blevins. He soon enrolled into the University of Arkansas courtesy of the GI Bill and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1959. He then worked with the Goodyear Tire Company in Miami, OK. After a short stay there he began work for the Sherwin Williams Paint Company. During his 35 year career at Sherwin Williams he served as store manager in Nevada, MO, Miami, OK, and Moberly, MO. before finally settling in Springfield, MO. as store manager. He was then promoted as District Manager and oversaw numerous stores throughout Missouri.
Euel was involved in any outside activities including membership Miami, OK. Jaycees, Downtown Springfield Rotary Club, Volunteer with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, President of the SW Missouri U of Arkansas Association, and active with the Green County Senior Democrats.
Euel was an approved workman for the Christ starting upon his profession of faith at the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, AR. He was ordained as a deacon in Miami, OK. and served church ministries in Moberly, MO. and upon moving to Springfield, MO. joined the fellowship of Grant Ave Baptist Church. He served many roles including Sunday School Director, Teacher, Deacon, Chairman of the Deacons, and many other volunteer duties. He later joined the church family at South Haven Baptist where he was last known as the ice cream man at VBS.
He was also a diehard Razorback fan and enjoyed going to football games and was a season ticket holder for almost forty years. Razorback Nation has lost one of its biggest fans!
He is survived by his wife Kathryn of the home, one daughter, Jenny Johnson and husband Robert, one son Doug and wife Grace, 9 grandchildren: Zachary and Ashley Artz, Jeromy Artz, Kelsey , Cordel and Morgan Johnson, Tyler, Kevin and Michaela Campbell. Also great-grandchildren, Aubry Friend, Peyton, Hadley and Hayden Artz. In addition to Euel being a great family man, he will be missed by many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 2, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South with burial following at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors.
