Eugene Natho, 77, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Monday in his home. He is survived by Helen Barrick Natho, his wife of 55 years; three daughters: Diane (Claude) Neumann of Denver, Colo.; Linda Natho of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Brenda (Russell) Bailey of Springfield; three grandchildren, Brianna and Jacob Neumann and Jessalyn Friedly. Gene is also survived by two sisters; Vi Braeking and Jeannette Henson, both of Mt. Vernon, Mo., as wells as many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Archie and James; and his parents, Eugene and Gertrude Ressman Natho.
Gene was born in Texas and moved with his family to southern Missouri in 1947. Gene and Helen were married in 1955 in Mt. Vernon, Mo. They lived in LaMonte, Mo. from 1961 to 1994. He worked as an engineer at Panhandle Eastern for 36 years. In 1994, they retired to Springfield, where Gene was active in his church and will be remembered as an accomplished builder and mechanic who was able to fix almost anything.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday in Greenlawn Funeral Home, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield. Services will be Thursday in Glendale Christian Church at 2:30 p.m., burial will be in Mt. Vernon afterwards.
