Eva Charlene Jones, 99, passed away peacefully in her home in Springfield on April 16, 2021 with her daughter-in-law by her side. Eva was a veteran in the U.S. Army where she met and married her husband, William David Jones (Pete) on July 8, 1945. She was born on April 3, 1922 in La Verne, Oklahoma to James H. and Harriett (Barber) Watkins.
Eva was preceeded in death by her husband, Pete, in 2004, her parents, 2 brothers (Arlis and Arvard Watt), and her son, Micheal, who passed away March 17, 2021. She is survived by 1 sister, Avis from Arizona, her daughter-in-law, Gail Jones, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grands, and 4 great great-grands.
There will be no service.
Eva’s resting place will be in the wall at Missouri Veterans Cemetery with her husband. She will be missed.
