JOPLIN, MO — Evelyn A. Gavisk, 87, of Joplin, Mo., passed away from a long illness Nov. 28, 2010, at 6:30 p.m.
Evelyn was born Oct. 6, 1923, at Wiota, Wis.
Preceding her in death are her parents, James and Olive Putnam; and two sisters, Dorothy and Margie.
She married Morgan Gavisk on Oct. 31, 1947. He also preceded her in death back in March of 2006.
She attended Harmony Heights Baptist Church, of Joplin. She worked for Avon out of Kansas City, for several years.
Survivors include one brother, Jim Putnam and his wife, Bonnie, of Joplin, and their two children, Randy Putnam, of Joplin, and Nancy Prater, of Muncie, Ind.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 3, at Harmony Heights Baptist Church from 12 to 1 p.m. with Rev. Charlie Burnett officiating. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Randy Putnam, Mike Prater, Gene Henderson and Barney Banks. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Springfield, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield.
