Ewvert Edward Rice, 93, departed this life on Saturday, July 3. He was born May 22, 1917, in Rogersville, Mo. He made his living as a well driller and carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Ed and Mattie Alice Rice; his wife, Juanita Rice; two sons, Layton Rice and Jerry Rice; one daughter, Beverly Sue Rice; and his sister, Elline Slavens. He is survived by his daugter, Pat Highfill; four grandchildren, Danny Rice and wife Lisa, Gail McKinney and husband Brent, Cindi Devine and husband Brad, and Angela Brigance and husband Andy; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 5, in Greenlawn Cemetery.
