Fayebelle Blackburn, 90 of Springfield, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 27, 2012 in Mercy Hospital. Fayebelle was born July 18, 1922 in Anderson, Missouri. She is the daughter of Ernest and Onah Dobbs. She was united in marriage to Jack Leroy Blackburn in 1942, a union that lasted 46 years. They had one son, Gary Leroy Blackburn.
She was a lifelong resident of the Springfield area and a member of Pleasant Valley Church. Fayebelle was passionate about the Lord and served Him by serving others. She worked out of the home at her husbands side as a co-owner of Jack Blackburn Septic Service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; and her son, Gary.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Julia Holloway and husband Michael and Nicole Blackburn; two nieces, Janet Zahner and husband Bruce of Pleasant Hope and Linda Hendricks and husband Jay of Springfield; and one nephew, Dan Renz and wife Jerri of New Berlin, WI.
She will be missed by her loving caregivers, extended family and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012 in Springfield National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Online condolences can be made at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
