Fern Louise Johnston, age 81, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in St. John’s Hospital. She was born on October 15, 1929 to Cecil and Dochie (Boyd) Aubrecht.
She married Calvin Johnston and four children were born. She was a member of Harvest Church, Springfield, Missouri where she taught Sunday school.
Fern enjoyed flowers, gardening, and games of UNO. She also enjoyed doing all the cooking for family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Mable Aubrecht and Nancy Warren; and a brother, Kenny Aubrecht.
She is survived by her children, William Johnston of Republic, Missouri, Patty Baden and husband, Marvin, of Fruitland Park, Florida, Darrel Johnston and wife, Connie, Carol Pace and husband, Edward of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Eugene Aubrecht of Springfield, Missouri, and Gerald Aubrecht of Oak Grove, Missouri; a sister, Nina Yoder of Pleasant Hope, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Harvest Church, Springfield Missouri, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Missouri.
