Mrs. Florence Fay Edwards met her Heavenly Father on September 6, 2011. Florence was born on March 10, 1919, in Grand Isle, NE, to George & Mildred Gardner. She married Harold L. Edwards in June 1939. He preceded her in death in 1961. Florence has resided in the Springfield area since 1967. Florence was a retired nurse and worked at Hill Haven Nursing Home and St. John’s Hospital during her nursing career. She also enjoyed volunteering as a Foster Grandparent after her retirement. She was also a beautiful artist of oil paintings. Florence was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 3 grandchildren: Rebekah Stall, Justin Edwards, and Todd Edwards.
Florence will be greatly missed by her four children and their spouses: Richard & Lois Edwards, Harold J. & Sandra Edwards, Thomas & Deanne Edwards, and James & Barbara Stall. Her 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren will also greatly miss her constant love and support. Florence is also survived by her sister, Reva Noxon. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Green Lawn South at 9:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held immediately after the visitation at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
