Floretta Baker, 79, Springfield, Mo., passed away March 14, 2011 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Mo. She was born October 1, 1931.
Floretta married James Baker, Jr. on August 11, 1950, Fair Play, Mo. She retired from J.C. Penny in 1983 as a Department Manager. The most important things to Floretta were her faith, family and precious grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Amanda Smith; a brother, Lawrence Griffin.
She is survived by her husband, James Baker, Jr.; her children, Jim and Connie Baker, Terry and Nita Baker, Janette and David DeShields; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in Greenlawn East Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Barren Creek Cemetery.
