Flossie E. Foster went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 5, 2011. She was born on October 20, 1921 in Webster County to Charles and Annie (Mallatt) Farr. She married Oren E. Foster on November 27, 1939 in Springfield. She worked for 35 years in the cafeteria at the Assemblies of God Headquarters, retiring at the age of 75. She loved her work because she truly had a servant’s heart and enjoyed helping people in any way she could. She was a faithful member of Central Assembly of God for more than 70 years where she taught Sunday school and worked in the nursery. She was saved at an early age and faithfully served her Lord throughout her life. She often said that she couldn’t remember a time when she didn’t love Jesus. She was very generous and kind hearted. She was an excellent cook and hosted many family dinners. She always took home empty dishes when she went to a pot luck dinner. She loved to travel and was always ready to go on any trip whether near or far away. She always planted vegetable and beautiful flower gardens and mowed her own yard until just last year. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1980, six sisters and one brother. She is survived by one brother, William Farr, Sr.; daughters, Delana Jackson and husband John, Velma Wilson and husband Scott, and Debbie Egger and husband, Rod; 7 grandchildren, Sherri Jackson, Patti Henger, Jeffery Wilson, Jennifer Torrence, Joanna Carter, Robert Egger, and Michael Egger; 10 Great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She dearly loved her family and was very much loved and respected by all of them. She will be sorely missed, but will always be with us because of what she taught us by her example of Godly living. “Who can find a more virtuous woman…her children arise and call her blessed.”
