Frances E. Nichols, 92, completed her earthly journey and flew to her heavenly home on Jan. 7, 2013. Frances was born November 5, 1920 in Fair Grove, Missouri to Gus and Alwilda Harwood.
She graduated from Fair Grove High School class of 1938. She married Roger (Bob) Hanks on Dec. 27, 1941. To this union one child was born. Roger gave his life serving in WWII. She remarried in 1948 to Hurley Nichols. She was a farmer’s wife for many years. Her later working years she was an activity director at several Springfield area nursing facilities.
In addition to husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Leona Tracy.
She is survived by daughter, Sharon Lowery (Darrel) of Loves Park, IL, two grandchildren, Stephenie Dunbaugh (Sheldon) of Loves Park, IL and Roger Lowery of Harrison, AR, three great-grandchildren, Tiffany Cuyler (Chad) of Loves Park, IL, Shari Williams of Loves Park, IL, and Jacob Lowery of Conway, AR, two great-great granddaughters, two great-great grandsons, and one nephew, Rick Tracy (Mary Lou) of Marshfield, MO.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Fri. Jan. 11, 2013 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Reverend Jim Jeffries will conduct private family graveside services. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Dallas County, Missouri.
