Frances Lou Elkins, age 75, of Hartville, MO, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Marshfield Care Center. She was born July 6, 1937, in Fresno, CA, to Clyde and Emma (Owens) Thompson. She was united in marriage to Roy Elkins on August 29, 1953. She was a member of Coon Creek Baptist Church Hartville, Missouri. Frances enjoyed crafts. She will be remembered for never meeting a stranger and being a second mother to her children’s friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Elkins; her parents, Clyde and Emma Thompson, of Everton. She is survived by six children, Rocky Elkins and wife Karen, of Belfair WA, Randy Elkins and wife Michelle of Kansas City, KS, Ronnie Elkins of Springfield, Robin Duke and husband Reggie Sr. of Hartville, Richard Elkins and fiancée Ashley of Springfield, and Rusty Elkins and fiancée Holly of Springfield; ten grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren; one sister, Loretta Bilyeu of Rogersville; and numerous nieces and nephews, who Frances loved very much. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Mr. Reggie Duke II officiating. Burial will be held in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
