Frances L. (Young) Shaffer went to her heavenly home on July 30, 2011. Fran was born to the late Jesse Carrell and Ella Mae (Peck) McCroskey on November 15, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri.
Fran was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond E. Young, Sr., her son, James C. Young, her parents, and one brother, Jesse Clifford McCroskey.
Survivors include her husband, E. R. Shaffer; children, Linda Hodges (Frank), Ray Young (Deana), and Joe Young (Becky); daughter-in-law, Teri Young; stepchildren, Donna Anderson and Danny Shaffer; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Underwood, Nola Sharp, Mary Lane and Charles McCroskey; two sisters-in-law, Nellie Barner and Loretta Shaffer and a host of other relatives and friends.
Fran was a member of High Street Baptist Church. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 10:00 am at Greenlawn North Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
