Francis Clutter, 94, passed away on April 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 2, 1923 in Fordland, MO. She was the oldest daughter out of eleven children by Sherman and Beulah McDonald. She was a graduate of Fordland High School and also received her teaching certificate from SW Mo State Teacher’s College. She wed Walter Clutter in June of 1948. From this union, they had 3 sons and were married for over 48 years. They lived most of their married life in the Midwest, mostly in Springfield and Mount Vernon.
She taught in a one-room school, Panther Creek, for a couple of years. Among other jobs, she worked at the Mo State Chest Hospital in Mt. Vernon and enjoyed selling Avon. She was a member of Pathways Methodist Church and very involved in church activities. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, taking care of her grandchildren, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three sons, David Clutter of Springfield, MO (Serena), Don Clutter and his wife Debby of Republic, MO (Paula, Ramona, Tiffany), and Jack Clutter and his wife Cyndi of Willard, MO(Shawn, Nathan)along with four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Freda(Ernest), Lillian, Jimmy, Alene, Helen, and Hubert(Sharon). She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, parents, and siblings: Leo, Lyle, Rilda, and Betty.
Francis will be remembered most for her love of God, love of her family, her generous spirit, and her smile.
The family would like to thank Bradford Court, Nixa Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Regional Hospice for all their care. Special thanks to Ramona Kozemczak for the loving care shown to her Grandma over the years.
Visitation will be at Greenlawn North on Saturday, April 21 at 9:00 am with services following at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Convoy of Hope.
