Francis “Mutt” Pendleton, age 93, of Mount Vernon, MO, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012, at Lawrence County Manor. He was born on Tuesday, July 30, 1918, in Halltown, MO, to Nathan J. and Annie (Clayton) Pendleton.
Francis served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Georgia Scroggins on Monday, September 20, 1943, in Miller, MO, and to this union three children were born.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Pendleton; son, Michial Pendleton and wife Carole, of Mount Vernon, daughters, Deitra Henry and husband Arthur, Mount Vernon, Brenda Shiveley and husband Terry of Aurora, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, May 4, 2012, at the First Christian Church, Mount Vernon, MO, with David Nordyke officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
