Frank was born to Jesse B. and Esther Skidmore on September 5, 1935 on the family farm near Flemington, MO and died on February 3, 2026 at 8:30 p.m. at the Manor at Elfindale following a short illness. Frank was married to Joyce Agee Skidmore on August 7, 1960 at Rock Prairie Missionary Church. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in August, 2025 surrounded by family.
Frank is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home, his daughter, Brenda Putman (Wesley), daughter-in-law, Rusti Skidmore, grandchildren, Julie Blizzard (Tyler), Jodie Putman, Clay Skidmore (Sydney), Cole Skidmore (Adrianna), and Jenna Skidmore. He also has 5 great grandchildren, Rylie, Saylor, and Scout Blizzard, and Jenova and Canyon Skidmore. He is also survived by his brother John Skidmore (Kerry) and his brother-in-law, David Agee (Debra) and several nephews and a niece.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his son, Bradley Frank Skidmore and his in-laws, Lloyd and Irene Agee. He was also predeceased by brothers George Skidmore and Bueford Skidmore and sister, Angeline Replogle.
Frank attended Union Elementary School and graduated from Humansville High School in 1953, where he served as class president and earned many FFA awards. He went on to study at Southwest Baptist College, now Southwest Baptist University, for two years, and graduated with his business degree from Drury College, now Drury University, in 1962. He later graduated from Drury University with his MBA in 1984.
Frank was drafted into the Army in 1959 and retired from the Army Reserve after 16 years. He then went on to serve in the Navy Reserves for another 16.5 years. With the military he traveled to the UK, Japan and Cuba, in addition to serving on many domestic military bases.
As an employee of the Frisco Railroad, Frank spent his early years working with some of the first commercial computers, often traveling to different IBM locations for training. He retired from the BNSF railroad in 1997. During his spare time, he enjoyed working on his farm and with his cattle which often had pet names. He also enjoyed attending sporting events of his grandchildren. Frank enjoyed travel, especially cruises, and had been through the Panama Canal three times. He cruised to Europe, Hawaii, Canada and Alaska and took many other special trips. In addition, being an old railroad guy, he enjoyed trips by rail, including taking the California Zephyr, from Omaha to San Francisco.
