Rev. Freda Lucille Jackson, 82, of Springfield, Mo., went home to be with her Lord Saturday, November 6, 2010 in Maranatha Lodge. She was born September 15, 1928, in Sikeston, Mo.
She earned a Masters Degree in Biblical Literature from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Mo. While employed as promotions editor of the stewardship department of The Assemblies of God International Headquarters. Freda enjoyed oil painting, needlework and was an avid reader and writer as well as solving crossword puzzles.
Both her and her husband were ordained ministers with The Assemblies of God. Freda and her husband pastored several churches including Faith Assembly of God church in Springfield, Mo. She loved to serve the church by creating chalk drawings, playing the piano, organ, and accordion. Her devotion to the Assemblies of God and promoting the church’s progress will leave a lasting legacy.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jesse Freda Andres and Ruby “Carter” Andres; and her husband, Thomas Lowell Jackson.
Freda is survived by daughter, Beth (Greg) Louzader, Springfield, Mo.; sons, Stephen Jackson, Rockaway Beach, Mo., and Thomas Dean Jackson, Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Ann Beck of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 A.M. in Maranatha Chapel, Friday, November 12, 2010. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Mo. Friends may visit from 3 to 9 P.M. on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
