Frida Bisbee, resident of Choctaw, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2025. She was born May 20, 1946, in Reykjavik, Iceland to Olafur Gudmudson and Magnea Magnusdoitter.
In September 1964, she met the love of her life, Doyle Clinton Bisbee who was stationed at Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland and they were later married in Miami, Oklahoma.
She later traveled with her husband to Lakehurst, New Jersey where she and Doyle later welcomed their first child Mary (Bisbee).
In 1969, while her husband was stationed in Vietnam, he met his lifelong friend Jim Perinovic who later married his wife Sonia and to this date they have remained longtime friends and part of the family.
In 1970, she moved to California and later relocated to Rota, Spain later welcoming their second child Donald (Bisbee). While stationed in Spain, she and Doyle traveled across the country camping out with Jim and Sonia Perinovic. She later transferred to the Naval Air Station Cecil Field, Florida where Doyle finished his Navy career.
After her husband retired from the Navy, she relocated to Liberal, Kansas where she worked at Beech Aircraft and received her pilot license and enjoyed flying. In the early 1980s, she relocated to Oklahoma where she started working for the Internal Revenue Service and later Tinker AFB. While her husband was working at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, they also started developing a successful business investing and owning real estate properties.
After they both retired from Tinker AFB, she and Doyle spent several years traveling the United States in their motor-home along with brother and sister- in-law Laverne and Shirley Bruton and Bob and Shirley Rescinto. Later she enjoyed going on cruises across many parts of the world. When she was not traveling the world, she liked going to the lake, spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her plants and flowers.
Frida is survived by her daughter Mary Amundson and husband Bob of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Son Donald C. Bisbee Sr. of Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was also proud of her grandchildren: Timothy Toll and wife Tiffanie, Donald C. Bisbee Jr. and wife Carmen, Dina (Amundson) Brown and husband Aaron, Aerial (Bisbee) Martin and husband Blake, and Katelyn Bisbee and great grandsons Tyson Brown, Franklin Bisbee and great granddaughter Theia Toll.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Doyle C. Bisbee.
Visitation is scheduled for May 3, 2025, from 0900-1000 at the Greenlawn Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri with funeral services to follow at 1000.
