Gail Onnittie Hamilton, age 79, was born on January 23, 1941 in Mittie, Louisiana. Jesus took Gail into His arms peacefully in her sleep on July 30th, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri.
Gail loved her Savior, going to church, reading her Bible, and listening to preaching. She loved sports including basketball and football. Gail enjoyed watching “March Madness”, the LSU Tigers, and the New Orleans Saints. Gail took great pride and joy in her family and loved each one of them unconditionally. She especially loved getting as many of the family members all together at the same time as possible. She also had a great sense of humor.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond James Hamilton and Zelma Ruby Mahaffey Hamilton of Lake Charles, Louisiana, her sister Gloria Renia Hamilton Haggart of Monroe, Louisiana, her son Michael Lyence Cuvillier of Springfield, MO, her nephews William Keith Haggart of Monroe, Louisiana and Timothy James O’Conner of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and her granddaughter Erin Michelle Burns of Decaturville, MO.
She is survived by her brother Herschel Hamilton and wife Charlene of Denham Springs, Louisiana; and sister Gellitte O’Connor Savoie and husband Murphy of Montegut, Louisiana. Gail is also survived by her daughter Vickie Lynn DeVenney and husband Darrell of Republic, Missouri; her son William Keith Cuvillier and wife Salli of Arlington, Texas; her daughter Regina Ann Winegar of Eldridge, Missouri; and her daughter Marla Jo Morris and husband Kevin of Strafford, Missouri.
Gail is also survived by 15 grandchildren including Melissa “Missy” Jackson and husband Matt of Montreal, Missouri; Michael Allen Cuvillier of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; Jamie Nicole Searcy and husband Nathan of Phoenix, Arizona; Brandi Lyn Boak and husband Steve of Camdenton, Missouri ; Lisa Marie Thomasson and her husband Kyle of Republic, Missouri; Stacy Ann Silverwood and husband Ryan of Hallsville, Missouri; Corey Matthew DeVenney and wife Karen of Nixa, Missouri; David Keith Cuvillier of Fort Worth, Texas; Jake Monroe of Mount Vernon, Virginia; Steve “Stevie” Hamilton Leck II of Springfield, Missouri; Thomas Ryan Leck of Springfield, Missouri; Dillon James Leck of Lebanon, MO; Whitney Jo Morris of Springfield, Missouri; Kenan Zachary Morris of Springfield, Missouri, and Kurtis Eli Morris of Strafford, Missouri and also 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with graveside service and burial to follow at Dishman Cemetery in Strafford, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour before services from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
