Garry Gene Cochran, age 66, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in his residence. He was born February 8, 1945, in Pasadena, CA, to Frank and Janette (Richardson) Cochran. He was a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple, and the shrine marching patrol. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Garry liked fishing, collecting Hot Wheels, and painting and bodywork on cars. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a huge Jeff Gordan Fan. His greatest love and passion, however, were his grandchildren .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janette Cochran.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Cochran of the home; one son , Josh Murray of Springfield; three grandchildren, Morgan Murray, Brooklyn Murray, and Jordan Boyer, all of Springfield; one brother, Joe Cochran and wife Shirley of Hermitage, Missouri; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Dr. Bruce McNeely officiating. Burial will be held in Rock Prairie Cemetery, Halltown, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
