Gary Goss, 76, of Bedford, a loving husband, father and grandfather who was affectionately called Poppy, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. Celebration of life: 12:30 p.m. Friday in J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 523 S. Main St., Grapevine, with Tom Brown officiating. Interment: Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 N. National Blvd., Springfield, Mo. Gary was born July 15, 1937, in Pampa to John and Lona Goss. He was raised on a farm outside Springfield, Mo., where he learned the value of hard work and appreciation of friends and neighbors. Gary received his BBA from Drury University in Springfield, Mo. He relocated to 13 different cities with Del Monte Foods and retired after 31 years in 1992 as regional vice president southwest. He then was business development manager for four years for a food company in Salem, Ore. Gary was involved in a range of activities, including family, golf and travel. Gary was preceded in death by a son, Greg; and father and mother, John and Lona. Survivors: Wife, Jane; daughter, Wendy Thompson and husband, Robert, of Bedford; son, Mike Goss and wife, Rachel, of Flower Mound; stepson, Michael Martin and wife, Tina, of Kennedale; grandchildren, Andrew and Austin Thompson, Luke and Kate Goss, and Kori Martin; and sisters, Jo Wilhoit and Pat McCall of Springfield, Mo.
Funeral service will be Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:00 am in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
