Gary Lee Meyer, 82, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026. Gary was born in Springfield on August 3, 1944, to Joe and Irene Meyer.Gary was a simple, hardworking man who loved being outdoors and enjoying the things that made life good. He especially enjoyed fishing at Stockton Lake, camping, and spending time outside. He had a lifelong interest in tractors, taking pleasure in participating in tractor pulls, and collecting antique tractors. He also had a love for wooden clocks, especially grandfather clocks, and enjoyed radio-controlled airplanes.Gary worked as a glazier for Builders Glass for 44 years, a job he truly loved. He took pride in his work and the many years he spent doing what he enjoyed. Gary was also a devoted animal lover who loved spoiling his cats and dogs.More than anything, Gary was a down-to-earth guy who enjoyed the simple things—being outdoors, working with his hands, fishing, camping, tinkering with his collections, and spending time with the people and animals he loved. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of the outdoors, and his ability to find enjoyment in the everyday things in life.Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marian Meyer, and his parents, Joe and Irene Meyer.He is survived by his two children, Douglas (Rhonda McMurray) Meyer and Scott (Chris Fender) Meyer; his grandson, Anthony Meyer; and his great-grandchildren, Kyle Meyer and Dylan Meyer.A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.Gary lived a simple life, worked hard, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed the things that made him happy. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
