Gary L. Hancock, age 76, of Bolivar, MO, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. He was born July 18, 1939, in Oxnard, CA, to Lester and Effie (Stewart) Hancock. He is a US Marine Corp. Reservist. Gary was united in marriage to Barbara Fudge March 6, 1965, and to this union four children were born. He is a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bolivar, and an active Gideon. He retired from Fast N Friendly in Bolivar, in 2002.
His parents; and one son Douglas Lester Hancock precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Barbara of the home; three children: Ginger Reynolds and husband Chaplain Major Timothy of El Paso, TX, Chad Hancock and wife Jen of Portsmouth, NH, and Travis Hancock and wife Tiffany of Bolivar, MO; five grandchildren: Douglas Reynolds, Kohen Hancock, Kysen Hancock, Trevor Hancock, and Ava Rose Hancock; two sisters: Coni Holgerson of Cavecreek, AZ, and Carol Ann Barnes and husband Mike of Camarillo, CA; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Bolivar First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Gary Ankrom officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens, Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pitts Chapel.
