Gena Lou”Pollock” Horton of Springfield, MO went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2012. She was born on July 14, 1936 to Billy Jean “Shorty” and Delores Pollock in Springfield, MO. She graduated from Senior High School in 1954. She fell in love & married Dale Horton on September 14, 1956. She worked at Lily Tulip & retired from GE. Gena was a member of the East Sunshine Church of Christ. Her hobbies were to love and care for her family & friends. In her free time, she also enjoyed reading a good book.
She is preceded in death by two brothers Bill & Joe Pollock; one half brother; two half sisters & one stepsister. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Dale Horton, one son Ian Horton & his girlfriend Stacie & family; two granddaughters Megan (Cody) Gilbert, Mindy Horton & four great grandchildren Kodi, Braxton Gilbert & Matthew, Celise Horton. One sister Donna Blankenship; one stepbrother Norman Duby; one stepsister Melba Taylor; brother-in-laws George (Sandra) Horton & Bobby Horton; sister-in-law Delacie (DeWayne) Retherford & a host of nephews, nieces, friends.
Visitation will be Friday, December 28 from 6pm-8pm at Greenlawn East. 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 29 at 10:00am at Greenlawn East. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests that memorial contributions be left to Fair Haven Children’s Home, Strafford, MO.
