Geneva C. Blades, 84, Springfield, MO. passed away on Sunday , November 26, 2023, at 10:18 a.m. at her daughter’s home after a long illness. She was born in Springfield, MO. on May 25, 1939, to John and Myrtle Suntken She was a Springfield area resident all of her life. She was of the Baptist faith and attended when she was able. She loved making crafts for friends and family.  Geneva had worked for the Aunt Martha’s Pancake House for 13 years, and she retired from Hudson Foods at the age of 62.

Geneva was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Curtis Mills, her second husband, Wesley Ray Blades, her two sons, Larry Joe Mills and Kenny Lee Mills, her daughter, Shirley Jean Mills, her grand-daughter Joanna Mills, and her grandson, Shannon Freeman.  She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann and her husband, Harvey J. Freeman, and her daughter: Sharon Kay, and her husband, Billy Schneider, her grandchildren: Brian Freeman; Kenny Mills Jr.; Ryan Mills; Casey Mills and Hollie Masterson, a multitude of great-grandchildren, her sisters, Oma Davis and Charlotte Lorraine Horn.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, burial will follow, in Liberty Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
