Geneva Ina Saucerman
Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend left this earth on April 30, 2010, to be with the one who loves her most – her Heavenly Father.
One of nine children, she was born in Elijah, Missouri on March 7, 1919, to Walter and Fannie House. She married Wilbur Lee Saucerman on September 17, 1949, and they made their home in Kansas City, where they were members of Englewood Baptist Church. She loved teaching children in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and her career as a children’s librarian in the Kansas City Public Library. In 1984 she retired, moved to Springfield, Missouri and became a member of Second Baptist Church and the Elizabeth Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son James Gary, brothers Joe, Bryce and Arley House, and a sister Peach (House) Walker.
She is survived by her daughter Janice Lee Riddle and husband Michael, a grandson Collin Christopher Riddle who she adored, two brothers Raymond House and wife Nadine; Gerald House; sisters Jean Bowen and husband Bill; Bonnie Wright, and a host of nieces and nephews. We are thankful for her godly influence, love and devotion toward her family every day of her life and know that some day we will be together again.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, May 2 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenlawn East Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Leon Riddle officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 5 at Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Baptist Church or Oxford HealthCare Community Care Fund.
