Geneva M. VanNoy, 83, of Springfield, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 at St. Johns Medical Center. Geneva was born May 16, 1928 in Norwood, Missouri to Con and Rosa Ussery.
She was a homemaker and was a volunteer with the St. Johns Auxillary for 31 years. She was also a member of Galloway Baptist Church. Geneva was married to Robert VanNoy who preceded her in death in 1977. Also preceding her in death are her parents, a brother Harlin and a grandson Robbie.
She is survived by a son, John VanNoy and his wife Elaine and a daughter Margaret Williams and Larry; 4 grandchildren, Jeff VanNoy, Jim VanNoy, Sarah Shelton and her husband Rob and Jennifer Williams and her husband Matt; 3 great-grandchildren, Leah and Kingston VanNoy and Landon Shelton; a sister Elouise Martin; sisters-in-laws Wilma Ussery and Carolyn VanNoy; her best friend Maxine Poague and other extended family and friends.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday October 11, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home East with burial in Rivermonte Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
