Genevieve (Goad) Cox
Jennie was born to Irvin and Alda Cottrill in West Virginia on January 9, 1921. She received her wings and became an angel on October 31, 2011 in Ozark, MO. Jennie met the love of her life and married Larry Goad on March 1, 1939. She worked beside her husband in the early years before the arrival of their two children, Bradley and Becky. She cherished being a stay at home wife and mom. Jennie loved politics, was an advocate for the mentally ill and an avid sports fan. After her first husband passed she was fortunate to find love and companionship with her high school sweet heart, Dwight Cox, in Chillicothe, Ohio. There she enjoyed spending time with her brothers and David and Mathew Dumbald, Dwight’s grandkids. In 2006 she left Chillicothe to live with her daughter in Nixa, MO. She is survived by her children Brad Goad of St. Louis, MO and Becky Goad of Nixa, MO, a special brother, Jim Cottrill and a sister in law, Kitty Cottrill of Chillicothe, OH, a sister in law Dottye Bagnall of St. James, MO and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held November 5 at 3:00 in the Chapel at Valhalla in Belleville, IL . In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Baptist Home at 1625 W. Garton Road, Ozark, MO 65721 in her memory. A special thank you to all the aids and nurses at The Baptist Home and to Kayleen with Hospice Compassus. Love you mom and fly free with the angels!
