George Ann Metcalf, age 51, of Springfield, MO, passed away peacefully Monday, October 7, 2013 in her home after a short battle with cancer. She was born March 27, 1962, in Springfield, Mo, to George and Jodean (Haden) Hurd. She was united in marriage to Michael Metcalf on Februray 20, 1990 in Springfield, Missouri. George Ann loved to fish, take care of her flowers, and playing the slot machines.
She was preceded in death by her parents,George and Jodean Hurd
She is survived by husband of 23 years,Mike Metcalf of the home; one daughter, Hannah Metcalf, Springfield, MO; four brothers, Butch Batson, Michael Batson and wife Michelle, David Batson and wife Retta, and Robin Batson; one sister Kim Latham; and a host of other family and friends. A celebration of life for George Ann will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
