George David Middleton, a beloved father, grandfather, and esteemed meteorologist, will be honored and remembered in a committal service, with full military honors at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO on April 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
George, born on March 6, 1938, in Downing, MO, dedicated his life to serving his country as a member of the Air Force and then went on to pursue a successful career in the National Weather Service. With his passion for meteorology, George made a lasting impact on his community, providing valuable insights and guidance during times of weather uncertainty.
Throughout his life, George touched the lives of many, including his loving son Wayne Middleton, daughters Annette Corlett and Alison Patterson, and cherished grandchildren Diane, Daniel, Jesse, Ashraiel, Miles and Carson.
George’s spirit was also intertwined with his soul-mate Shirley Shanks, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His great sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him, leaving behind fond memories and laughter.
Sadly, George was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Middleton, daughter-in-law Tracey Middleton, and grandchildren Rachel and David. Their memories are cherished alongside George’s, a testament to the love and legacy he leaves behind.
