Gerald Laverne Engle, 53, of Bolivar passed away on March 21, 2023. Jerry was born on October 9, 1969, in Bakersfield, California, to Gerald and Mary Engle. Jerry was a 1987 graduate of North High School in Bakersfield, CA. Jerry married Christie Mincks on April 24, 2004, in Bakersfield; together they raised four children.
In 2012, Jerry and Christie moved the family to Bolivar, for better opportunities and to be closer to family. Jerry was a tow Truck Driver, at Affordable Towing in Bolivar for 7 years. Jerry received his Class A Truck License in 2022. He loved to go boating and drink white claw, which led to many different jumping activities. Jerry loved his dogs: Willow, Trixie, Penny, and Bella. The amazon truck could be seen at his house every day. Jerry always wanted to make sure his family was well stocked and taken care of, ordering extra laundry detergent and food, and giving cheese for Christmas. When Jerry spoke about his kids, he would light up like a Christmas tree. You ALWAYS knew when he was in the room, so loud and boisterous. He loved helping people, he would often help the people he towed, by taking groceries to their house.
Jerry was preceded in death by his dad, Gerald Laverne Engle; grandson, Sawyer Butler; his mother-in-law, Sarah Mincks, and brother-in-law, Michael Mincks.
He is survived by his wife, Christie Engle, of Bolivar; his children: Jessica Engle, Shaunna Butler (Hunter), Ashtlyn Mitchell (Austin), Garred Engle, Sarah Engle, and Allee Engle; his grandchildren: Leah, Kensley, Landon, Levi, Nova, and Rayne; his mom, Mary Engle; his sister, Kerry Engle; and many other family members and friends.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at 1815 N Glenstone Ave. Springfield, MO 65803, followed by a tow truck procession.
