Gilbert “Gil” Struble, 73, passed away January 4, 2013, at home in Springfield, Missouri. He was born January 6, 1939, in Panama City, Oklahoma, to Elmer Ray and Josephine Florence (Reather) Struble.
Gil graduated from Benton High School, Benton, Arkansas in 1957. He worked as a machinist and mechanic for most of his life with people such as Buddy Baker and Bill Moss of Moss Kart. He also worked at TRW, Northrup and Boeing before retiring in 2005. Gil loved auto racing, antique cars, vacations in the Caribbean, and a good comedy show.
Gil will be remembered for his personality and his telling of jokes. He was a person who always was in a good mood, loved his wife, children and country. He was a person who tried to help others and was everyone’s friend. He will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Arthur Ray Struble. Gil is survived by his wife, Ruby Struble, of 4 years; four children from his first marriage to Peggy Joan Kostreba, Dan (Sandy) of Ozark, Tammy Marie McCausland of Portland, Oregon, Wesley Aaron (Marlyn) of Ozark, and Amy (Eric) Lorsheider of Ozark; and grandchildren, Aaron Struble, Jessica Groetzinger, Miranda McCausland, Casey Struble, Derik Groetzinger, Austin Struble, Toree Vandyke, Emma Leigh Kostreba, Grant and Lindsey Lorsheider.
Private services will be held at a later date.
