Gladies “Christine” (Ingle) Mills
June 15, 1939 – September 3, 2013
Gladies “Christine” Mills went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2013 at age 74. She was born on June 15, 1939, in Lubbock, TX, to James and Bertie (Nixon) Ingle. Christine accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior on March 4, 1951, and was baptized at Arnett Benson Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX. Her faith was very important to her until the end of her earthly life. Christine believed strongly in God’s divine will. Like Jesus, her Savior, Christine would say, “Not my will, but thy will be done.” She was a loving, generous, selfless person who put the needs of others before her own.
Christine loved animals. She owned and operated a pet shop in the late 70s and early 80s. For many years, she was a pet groomer and raised parrots and many other species of birds. Christine kept birds even up until this last year, whereupon entering the nursing facilities she could no longer care for them. In the late 80s and early 90s, she raised and showed dogs along with her daughter.
Christine enjoyed fishing, cooking, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and many other crafts. She also loved her gardens and flowers. One of her greatest wishes was to return home to tend to the gardens and flowers she loved so much. We can only imagine how happy and peaceful Christine is in God’s Garden of Paradise.
Christine is survived by her son, Randy Mills and his wife Nancy of Springfield, MO; her daughter, Tanya Smith and her husband Trevor of Springfield, MO; a granddaughter, Caitlyn Christine; a step-grandson, Brent Wilmot; and a brother, Johnny Ingle and his wife Sue of Canyon, TX.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, and the Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeffrey Sippy officiating.
