Gladys Anna Stroup was born on August 22, 1917, in Barren Hill, PA, to the late Charles and Anna Leimback. She went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2012. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas N. Stroup; daughter, Shirley Ruth; and granddaughter-in-law, Cheri Ruth.
She is survived by her son, Thomas L. Stroup and his fiancée, Irene Giles; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Howard Vandever; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Gladys dedicated her life to taking care of her home and family, and made Christmas a special time for everyone, especially the children. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior in 1962, and loved the Lord with all her heart. Her and her husband had 70 wonderful years together. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and prayed for her family daily. She was loved by all, and her family was her greatest legacy.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m., in the funeral home.
