Glen McCoy, 87, passed away peacefully on September 2,2026 surrounded by his family.

Glen was a devoted husband, father, neighbor, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many.  He will be deeply missed by his wife, Louise McCoy, and his children: daughters Brenda Hagemann and son-in-law Daryl,  Lori Hartman and son-in-law Jeff Pojar, and son Steve McCoy and daughter-in-law Patricia.  Sister Janice Lenga and brother-in-law Mark, and 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Glen spent his professional career as an actuarial administrator with Bankers Life/Ameritus Lie Insurance Company, where he dedicated many years of service.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Glen played basketball in college and remained a devoted Nebraska Cornhuskers fan throughout his life.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting with his son, boating, and tending to his flowers.  He also took great pleasure in feeding and watching his birds, creating a little haven in his yard that reflected his love of nature.  He instilled a love of nature and lake life in his children and grandchildren.

Glen had a personality that was impossible to forget.  He had a great sense of humor, a quick wit, and a wonderfully irreverent, raw sense of humor that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing.  He loved making people laugh and never seemed to miss an opportunity to share a joke or funny story.

He also loved his neighbors and his community.  Glen was more than just a neighbor-he was an icon in his community, someone whose presence, personality, and friendship became part of the character of the neighborhood.  He cared about the people around him and made lasting connections with those fortunate enough to know him.

Above all, Glen treasured his family and the life they shared together.  His humor,  generosity, love of the outdoors, and unmistakable personality will live on in the memories he crated with family, friends, and neighbors.

He will be remembered, loved, and greatly missed by all who knew him.
