Mrs. Goldie Lorene Forrest, age 85 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Tuesday January 4, 2011 in Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, MO. She was born April 14, 1925 in Mt. Grove, MO to Willie and Mabel Edwards Hicks Williams. Lorene married Willard Gordon Forrest on January 29, 1946. She retired from Teters Inc., and was a passionate foster grandmother of 15 years. She was a member of Church of Christ in Bolivar, MO
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willard Forrest; a brother Troy Hicks and a sister-in-law Gracie Hicks.
She is survived by her daughter Reba Greer and husband Mike of Goodson, MO; her sons Gordon Forrest and wife Helen of Halfway, MO; Bob Forrest and wife Terri of Ozark, MO; Mearl Forrest of Bolivar, MO; and Alvin Forrest and wife Barbara of Aldrich, MO; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; a brother Doyne Hicks of Mt. Grove, MO; a brother-in-law Leon Forest of Arkansas and a sister-in-law Vivian Hicks of Alabama ; a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Goldie Lorene Forrest will be at 12:00 pm (Noon) Friday January 7, 2011 in Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, MO with Bro. Ron Erven and Bro. Bill Ackels officiating with burial to follow in the Bolivar City Cemetery in Bolivar, MO. Visitation is Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the chapel. Pallbearers are Brian Forrest, Josh Forrest, Matt Forrest, Rusty Forrest, Brian Ferguson and Travis Forrest. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Ackels, Terry Moore and Tom VanHorn.
