Gordon Elston Minor, 89, of Springfield, died Tuesday morning, December 5, 2023, at Century Pines Assisted Living in Ozark, Missouri. Gordon was a lifelong resident of Springfield and graduated from Springfield Senior High School. He was a draftsman at City Utilities for nearly 30 years. After retirement he and his wife, Wanda, owned and operated G&W Antiques and Collectibles in downtown Springfield for many years. He was a member of Baptist Temple in Springfield.
Gordon was born to Henry and Wilma Minor on December 3, 1934, in Springfield, Missouri. He married Wanda Stever on March 15, 1957. Gordon is survived by his sons, David Minor and wife, Nena, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Rob Minor and wife, Beth, of Nixa, Missouri. He is also survived by grandchildren, David Minor Jr., Krysta Minor, Andy Minor, Caleb Minor and wife Alysha, and Mikki Benjamin; three great grandsons, Nathanael Minor, William Minor, and Sage Minor; his Aunt Juanita Young; and his childhood friend Kenneth Haynes. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Margaret, and his wife Wanda.
Visitation will be Friday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri or Rescue One of Springfield.
