Gordon Harry Stone went to be with Jesus on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at his home in Branson, MO at the age of 92.
He was born May 9, 1933, in Lake Forest, IL to Walter and Ellen Stone. In 1952 he met Norma Meyers in Cary, IL, and they were married in 1954. They had three sons; Ken, Bill and Dan, while living in Illinois.
Some of Gordon’s many jobs and business ventures included serving four years in the US Air Force as a flight line mechanic, a tool and die cast machinist, a residential milk man, snowplowing, motel management and over-the-road truck driver. Among his favorites though were being Santa Claus, Easter bunny and tooth fairy to his three boys!
In the spring of 1974, Gordon moved his family to the Branson area to fulfill a dream of being a resort owner, where he and Norma owned and operated the Corvair Motel Resort on Indian Point for the next eight years.
Gordon was an active member of Life Christian Center in Branson for 30 years where he enjoyed serving and fellowshipping.
Gordon loved being with his family and getting together with friends to play Aggravation. He enjoyed traveling and he and Norma took many wonderful trips. He always enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, the movie “Up” and a good homemade casserole.
He considered himself a very blessed man and will be missed by everyone who ever met him.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Bill.
Survivors include Norma, his wife of 71 years; three sons, Ken and wife Susan of Renton, WA, Bill and wife Polly of Reeds Spring, MO, and Dan of Branson, MO. Six grandchildren, Zara Fritz, Azriel Stone, Jaaziah Stone, Cassidy Kueck, Jacklyn Bush, and Eric Stone. Eleven great-grandchildren and several neices and nephews. They were all very dear to him.
